If you enjoy golf, Carlsbad has two challenging and scenic golf courses that welcome the public. There are many organized sports leagues available for everyone.
The Pecos River snakes its way through this warm, desert town, its deep blue waters providing beauty, serenity, livelihoods and entertainment for many in our town. Starting in the mountains of Northern New Mexico, the Pecos River travels 900 miles into Texas where it joins the Rio Grande. Along its journey, the river creates an awesome presence in Carlsbad and Surrounding areas.
Another world awaits you deep below the surface at Carlsbad Caverns National Park. Created over time this subterranean marvel amazes visitors year-round with its beautiful formations and challenging off- trail tours. The Carlsbad Caverns is listed as one of the twenty world heritage sites in the United States and thought by many to be the 8th wonder of the world. The surrounding area also includes Guadalupe Mountains National Park, Living Desert State Park, Brantley Lake State Park, Lincoln National Forest and Sitting Bull Falls.
